  • Govinda Govinda....AACHOOO!

Ok guys, The title is a bit funny, I admit it but you will laugh when i tell you the whole story.
As you might know Govinda is what people call Lord Balaji. He is supposed to be the Lord who destroys the sins of the people , etc. His temple i.e the temple where people tell that he sits is called Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, you might know it as Tirupati :).
One day my family decided to take a trip down to Tirupati and visit the temple. I was very eager and exited to visit that temple cuz it is told that if you wish for anything over there and offer something your wish will come true. I was so eager that I packed all my stuff i.e mp3 player, clothes, etc 2 weeks in advance just to make sure that we reach there on time.
We first caught a plane to Hyderabad which is about 550;kms from tirupati. Once we reached Hyderabad we stayed there for a couple of days and then we left to Tirupati ( by car ). We visited many temples on the way and stopped at many Dhabas. It took us about 9 hours or so as we took the NH7 and National Highway 18. Once we reached; the area it was already late night, so we decided to stay at a nearby hotel for a night or so.

Next day, at around 3.30 pm( as we were told that there is too much rush at the temple ) we left by car to Tirupati temple. The area was very well decorated and the rush was a lot! We could not wait in line for 12+ hours of so cuz once we get in, we cant get out, and the guards there were more like pushing the people instead of getting them under control. We decided to some how get some VIP pass or something to the temple. We somehow got the pass by around 2'o clock. Once we got it we were told by that the other groups have not come back yet, maybe you have to wait for 3-4 hrs or so. We all got furious!4 hrs! somehow we kept ourselves occupied( without mobile/mp3 player , etc ). I saw a spider weave 3 webs and then getting eaten up by a bird .At around 900 pm we were told that we can now go inside the temple. I was then hyper, eager and hungry and bored combined ( i know its weird but i was in such a mood ). We then somehow got near the main temple ( where the idol stood ) at around 11.15 or so, but them we were told that we have to combine with the other line ( the line with the people waiting for 12 hrs or so.. ) The rush was too much and i could not feel my legs as i was being pushed front and back. In front my mom was catching my hand and at the back was my dad ( to make sure i don't get lost in the crowd). We had to be in such a position till 9:45 - 10 when we entered the place where the idol was kept. There were some guards standing in front of the line ( as in front of the fence ) and when the people stop there for 8 secs min they are pushed out. At last We reached the place where the idol was kept i.e i was in front of the big tall gold idol. Suddenly i was pushed to the side ( the view of the idol was quite; different now) but there was an Agarbatti ( Fragrance stick used during a Pooja ) in front of my nose, before i could look up at the idol ( look at the idols face ) I sneezed...so the 8 secs i had got over and then i was pushed out. My mom, my dad and all had seen the statue and all....where as I? I just saw the feet and sneezed and my parents started laughing cuz i did not see anything :'( . Thus as the title says , I was just about to pray when i sneezed so " Govinda Govinda.....ACHU!!! ". So if you are planning to go to Tirupati then trust me, either dont have any allergies with agarbattis etc or just watch it on the Computer/TV from your cozy bed/sofa and pray what u want to.. I was so angry after that that i do not feel like going to that temple..... ( its a bit sad and all but come on! i had waited for so many hrs in the line for a sneeze? :@ ).
Incase you are planning to go to any balaji temple then trust me there is a temple that looks exactly like the original temple but at Pune ( Maharashtra) and there, I was given 15 mins to see the idol and the Prasad? It was as big as the one that came in Tirupati :)
Just in case you cant go to balaji temple at tirupati, here is one which is in my
    opinion much better :)

Here is the place location : http://is.gd/cVa2R
It is marked as " A " afaik......
    Ok
